Divine Connection

Divine Connections

The Lord gave me a message to preach at the Garden of Prayer Baptist Church for Pastor Haynie’s 24th year anniversary that hopefully blessed the hearts of the people, because after much prayer and study it certainly impacted me. The title of the sermon was, “Hold On To Your Divine Connections.”

Divine Connections are extraordinary connections that God has established that will bless your life. Satan obviously sends people into our life to destroy us, so you must pray that the Spirit enables you to know the difference.

It took me far too long to distinguish the difference between the two types of people. I learned not to immediately reject or discount people that come across my life’s path.

Hebrews 13:1,2 Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

Biblical examples of Divine Connections can be found in the story and relationships of: Ruth and Naomi, Saul and David, David and Johnathan, Mary and Elizabeth, Paul and Timothy Moses and Aaron and Hur, Eljah and Elisha, and Jesus and John the Baptist. The connection between Mary and Elizabeth was so strong that John (before birth) leaped in the womb of his mother when he heard the voice of Mary.

Divine Connections have mutual benefits, it’s not one sided.

The Bible reads:

Jeremiah 3:15 (KJV) And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

Hebrews 13:17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

Most people assume that they are the only ones that benefit from their relationship with their pastor and the pastor receives no benefit at all. Granted, pastors are Soul-Watchers, but they to benefit from the relationship. If they did not benefit from the relationship, then it would not be a Divine Connection. There are spiritual benefits that pastors receive on earth and spiritual benefits that abound to their account eternally. Put yourself in the shoes of a pastor for a moment and imagine multitudes of people pouring into your life spiritually daily and weekly. WOW what a benefit!

Having you as one of my Divine Connections makes me abundantly and spiritually wealthy. I pray that you will likewise let strangers come into your life with deposits of spiritual blessings.

March 21, 2016

For the past few days I have spent several hours in Rush St. Luke Medical Center visiting with two men; both have had surgery and one has to have an additional quadruple heart bypass.  Both families are in prayer for a miracle, as most families are who have love ones in the hospital.

The simple definition of a miracle is an event or divine phenomenon or that is not explicable or explainable by natural or scientific law that is caused by the power of God.

Acts 2:22 (KJV)  Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

A few examples of a miracle are:

The Rising of Jesus Christ from the grave, known as the resurrection.

The Burning Bush that was not consumed. Exodus 3:3 (KJV)  And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.

The Red Sea Divided. Exodus 14:21 (KJV) And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

The shadow of the sun turns backward. 2 Kings 20:11 (KJV)  And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the Lord: and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz.

Two Blind Men Healed. Mat. 9:28-29 (KJV) And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. 29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.

It is essential that Believers have faith that God can and will perform miracles and despite how bleak a situation appears God can turn the situation around.

It was not by coincidence that God allowed my wife and I to be at a Bishop T. D. Jakes meeting to preview the new movie “Miracle from Heaven”; it was destined to be for a purpose. My personal experience elevated by faith level to believe that all things are possible, and with this faith I am entitled to supernatural blessings.

We wanted everyone that we are connected to see this movie, not because Bishop Jakes produced it, but it is a terrific movie that will increase your faith in God and raise your expectation of a miracle. We also wanted particular people to enjoy the movie with us because the anointing on the fellowship will make a difference in their life. There is a reason why you keep seeing miracles, favor and the power of God in my life. You need to be touching what’s touching God.

If you want to join my wife and I as we increase the faith of others please give us a call today to receive the blessing of faith.

Obedience & Priority

Obedience and Priority

1 Kings 17:1-9 And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word. And the word of the Lord came unto him, saying, Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there. So he went and did according unto the word of the Lord: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook. And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.

Elijah the Prophet was impacted by the draught in the land but God sustained him by having ravens bring him meat and bread.

What happens when your brook dries up and there are no natural answers to the problem? It is during times of draught and famine that one’s faith is usually tested and you start looking for answers.

God’s answer to Elijah’s problem was disguised as another problem. God told Elijah to go see a widow woman who happened to be very poor.

Elijah found the woman collected firewood and asked her for water and bread and she told him about her impoverished situation. The woman said she was suffering from a dried up brook like everyone else, and she only had enough food for herself and sons.

All she had was a little. Whenever God gets ready to perform a miracle He usually uses just a little. Most people error in making decisions based upon quantity rather than priority.

Matthew 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Initially she looked at her quantity, which was really her lack. Then after consideration she obeyed and looked at her priorities. The miracle of water entering her dried up brook was unlocked when she put God first. The draught still surrounded her house and was ever present throughout the land but the famine was over in her house.

Elijah told her that “The jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the Lord sends rain on the land.” She was blessed with food and oil to last her throughout the draught.

A short time her son became ill and stopped breathing and she called upon Elijah to help her. Elijah prayed for her son then took him to a room and laid on him three times:

1 Kings 17:22-23 The Lord heard Elijah’s cry, and the boy’s life returned to him, and he lived. 23 Elijah picked up the child and carried him down from the room into the house. He gave him to his mother and said, “Look, your son is alive!”

This woman received two manifested miracles because she obeyed God and placed Him first in her life.
